We believe in the power of community and connection, not correction.
In 2023. Thugs Need Hugs inc. was born inside of four concrete walls, but it was never meant to stay there.
It came from the simple realization, that people do not need to be fixed.
Too often people are judged instead of understood. Children grow into adults with wounds that they never chose. Navigating systems that are quick to label but slow to listen.
Survival becomes stigma.
Mistakes become identities.
The tools that people need to heal, grow, and move forward aren't always accessible.
We are the misfits, the marginalized, and the misunderstood. We are the artists, the hustlers, the dreamers. We are everyday people learning to be open in a closed off world.

The bear isn't just a logo. It's the whole point.
Some of the people I've had the privilege of sitting with — people the world walks past, crosses the street to avoid, writes off before they open their mouths — those same people have looked me in the eye and told me the darkest moments of their lives. And walked away a little lighter.
Rough on the outside doesn't mean broken on the inside. It usually means the opposite.
The bear wears a crown because you were never less than. One eye full of heart, because love is still in there — even when life has tried its hardest to convince you otherwise
HOW IT STARTED
FROM THE FOUNDER
My name is Sparky Jones, founder of Thugs Need Hugs.
I realized I had been living this idea long before it became a business. It was in the homies who trusted me with things they'd never told anyone, the strangers whose stories I sat and listened to, and the moments I watched someone stand a little taller simply because they felt seen.
I once spoke with a man who was hunched over and closed off. I listened, shared some hope with him, and reminded him not to give up on himself. The next time I saw him, he greeted me smiling and standing taller.
That's Thugs Need Hugs.
This was never just about putting cute bears on clothing. It grew from my own experience of changing my life and seeing what can happen when people are given love, support, accountability, opportunity, and a community that believes in them.
Sometimes people learn how to survive before they ever get the chance to learn how to live.
What they had to do to survive doesn't have to define who they become.
Community and connection, not correction.

Thugs Need Hugs started with a message, but the vision has always been bigger than what we wear.
We're working toward building real-world spaces, programs, and opportunities centered around community, creativity, emotional regulation, mentorship, and second chances.
The goal is to take the same message behind TNH and put it into action.
COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Creating spaces where people can connect, practice emotional regulation, explore creativity, have honest conversations, and remember that they aren't alone.
YOUTH & MENTORSHIP
Building opportunities for young people, especially those who feel misunderstood, overlooked, at risk, or impacted by the justice system, to experience mentorship, creative outlets, life skills, and community support.
CREATIVE & HEALING SPACES
Using art, movement, meditation, music, storytelling, and other forms of expression as tools for connection, self-discovery, and growth.
REENTRY & SECOND CHANCES
Working toward resources and opportunities for people rebuilding their lives after incarceration, addiction, trauma, and other difficult chapters.
COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
Partnering with artists, facilitators, organizations, businesses, and people who believe stronger communities are built when we stop writing people off and start giving them somewhere to belong.
